गुरु पूर्णिमा अर्थात् आचार्यदेवो भव:

काठमाडौँ। आषाढ शुक्ल पूर्णिमाका दिन आज गायत्री, दीक्षा, वेद मन्त्र सुनाउने र शिक्षा दिने गुरुजनप्रति सम्मान भाव प्रकट गरी गुरु पूर्णिमा पर्व मनाइँदैछ ।

‘गु’ को अर्थ अन्धकार र ‘रु’ भन्नाले प्रकाश बुझिन्छ । ज्ञानरुपी प्रकाशले अज्ञानरुपी अन्धकारको नाश गराउने व्यक्तिलाई गुरु भनिने तन्त्रशास्त्र र धर्मशास्त्रका पुस्तकमा उल्लेख गरिएको धर्मशास्त्रविद् एवं नेपाल पञ्चाङ्न निर्णायक समितिका अध्यक्ष प्रा डा रामचन्द्र गौतमले बताए।

अन्धकारको नाश गरी जीवनमा उज्यालो फैलाउने व्यक्तित्वलाई नै गुरु भनिन्छ । यस्ता गुरुलाई हाम्रो शास्त्रले ब्रह्मा, विष्णु र महेश्वरका रुपमा समेत मानेको छ । यसैले विभिन्न ग्रन्थमा यसो भनिएको पाइन्छ :

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णु गुरुर्देवो महेश्वर : ।
गुरु : साक्षात् पर ब्रह्म तस्मै श्री गुरवे नम : ।।

माता पिताजस्तै गुरुलाई पनि देवता समान मानी ‘आचार्यदेवो भव’ भनिन्छ ।

गुरु पूर्णिमाका अवसरमा यस दिन विभिन्न विद्यालय एवम् सङ्घसंस्थाले कार्यक्रम गरी शिक्षा, दीक्षा दिने गुरुप्रति श्रद्धाभाव प्रकट गर्ने गरेकामा यस वर्ष कोरोना भाइरसको सङ्क्रमणबाट बच्न सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रम कमै गरिए पनि मानसिक रुपमा श्रद्धाभाव प्रकट गरिने जनाइएको छ ।

व्यास जयन्ती

आजै वेदलाई ऋग्वेद, यजुर्वेद, सामवेद र अथर्ववेद गरी चार भागमा विभाजन गरी यसको अर्थ बुझाउन सरल संस्कृत भाषामा १८ पुराण र १८ उपपुराणको रचना गर्नुहुने वेदव्यासको सम्झनामा व्यास जयन्ती पनि मनाइन्छ । आषाढ शुक्ल पूर्णिमाकै दिन वेद व्यास जन्मिएकाले यसै दिन व्यास जयन्ती मनाउने गरिएको हो ।

व्यासले पुराण र उपपुराणका माध्यमबाट यस्तो सन्देश दिन खोजिएको छ :

‘अष्टादश पुराणेषु व्यासस्य वचन द्वयम् ।
परोपकार पुण्याय, पापाय परपीडनम्’ ।।

अर्थात् अरूको उपकार गरे धर्म हुन्छ एवम् अरूलाई पीडा दिए पाप लाग्छ भनी मानवतावादी सन्देश दिएका छन् । पाँचौँ वेदसमेत भनिने महाभारत पनि व्यासले नै रचना गरेका थिए।
